I remember when J.K.
Rowling's first Harry Potter book became a best seller back in 1998
when it was published in the US.
"According to
Rowling, a major theme in the series is death: "My books are
largely about death. They open with the death of Harry's parents.
There is Voldemort's obsession with conquering death and his quest
for immortality
at any price, the goal of anyone with magic. I so understand why
Voldemort wants to conquer death. We're all frightened of it."

Wildly popular, it
also met with criticism from Fundamentalist Christians. Too much
magic!
That however, did
not dampen the success of the seven book series. Not a bit.
The books have been
translated into 67 languages - and even "American English".

I think we all need
hope in life, and sometimes hope involves magic, miracles, and indeed
having to break some rules
(school rules!) to forge ahead in our personal quests.
